through a glass darkly

One reads and hears a lot about simulation theory. That maybe our world has been created as opposed to just occurring randomly.

Not entirely unlike the book of Genesis.

Does making something equal faking it?

During our time on the game grid, we largely face constraints re space and the arrow of time, though there is evidence people sometimes perceive things that would not seem to be in their temporal and spatial field of vision--there was the research that found people responding before things had a chance to happen.

Just to be clear, in at least one language, the word for "game" does not necessarily connote only frivolous pastimes. The Latin "magister ludi" can mean "master of the game" or "schoolmaster."

One hears, whether it's a near-death experience someone survives and reports or a primer on the last things, that a veil is lifted, and we are face to face with a being of light.

There is disagreement on how many turns one takes in incarnation.  For many in the Abrahamic faiths, this is considered your one shot.

Some think, once the veil is lifted, you are out of chances to accept the infinite love shown by the light. In "The Great Divorce," C.S. Lewis posited field trips from hell to heaven, on which once in a deep blue moon, a soul could be pried loose from the petty grasp of hell to embrace and remain in heaven. St. Faustina reported that Christ comes to each soul three times, gives three chances.

It was several years after I first read Dante's Divine Comedy that I first heard, from one Dr. William O'Brien, that the torments of the damned were not punishments purposely inflicted as a counter to what they had desired, but were the true face of the unworthy things they had pursued in their earthly lives.
